Careers in IT are the most interesting. It is a domain marred by rapid and necessary advancements. One time it was just limited to mainframe computers and basic network support. Same applies to security professionals which can be said to be one of the most lucrative openings to both those making lateral career moves and seasoned IT professionals.

The demand for cybersecurity professionals is too high. The past few years have been characterized by an increase by both data breaches and cyber-attacks. This is a turn of events that has triggered an insatiable demand for skilled professionals to counter the unfortunate events. Predictions place the demand of cybersecurity professionals at six million individuals by 2019[1]. This is one of the indication that this is a domain that seems to be growing faster than any other tech job.

Seeking new opportunities should remain the order of the day. The best part about cybersecurity is that it offers the most desirable levels of mobility especially among those that opt to pursue certification and training programs in this domain. Jobs are plentiful and for those that are looking to shift the careers interests, should consider this field since you will be able to find work here. Salary may be fluctuating but all at the most reasonable levels as compared to other fields. Cybersecurity professionals are rewarded accordingly and can be said to be one of the best paying tech job.

All in all, it is easy to move to the cyber security domain. It does not require going to school for a four-year program or even more. It is easy to get started here with all the relevant cyber security certifications which can be said to be the best opening to more opportunities. Jobs in this domain range from security engineer, a forensics expert, security auditor to the chief information security officer. Some of the training courses or certifications include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Comp TIA, and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), among others[2]. Cyber security is a strong job market with good pay and constant challenges with the easiest mode of entry.
